SOLON, Ohio (August 4, 2004) – More than 200 registered bidders attended an auction in North Canton held by Stopol, Inc. yesterday to purchase plastics manufacturing equipment from discontinued operations of Bocko Inc.

Solon, Ohio-based Stopol, a leader in arranging the acquisition and sale of production equipment and machinery, businesses, divisions, product lines, and manufacturing licenses in the plastics industry, organized and managed the event.

Buyers from plastics manufacturing operations in Northeast Ohio, as well all over the United States, visited the recently closed Bocko North Canton plant to bid on a variety of injection molding equipment from the recently closed facility, including more than 29 late-model 250- to 1,150-ton injection molding machines and related accessories.

Bocko, which manufactured a variety of molded products, including food containers and housewares, closed its doors in June due to diminishing sales. As a result, Bocko consulted with Stopol to help it divest its remaining machinery through an auction.

The featured auction item, a 2001 Cincinnati Milacron 850-ton, 140-ounce injection molding machine, generated a great deal of interest and a bid price of $180,000. Meanwhile, a series of Toshiba equipment garnered a substantial amount of attention as well, with a 1999 390-ton, 63-ounce injection molding machine fetching a price of $65,000 and a 2000 310-ton, 41-ounce injection molding machine going for $55,000. "Auctions really cater to those operations that are committed to spending their money wisely," according to Neil Kruschke Jr., Stopol CEO. "These events enable companies to purchase quality equipment at cost-effective prices. This further enables them to upgrade their capacity and subsequently add new employees.”
