SOLON, Ohio (October 18, 2005) – Nearly 350 registered bidders participated – both in person and online -- in a multimillion-dollar auction held October 12 by Stopol, Inc. to purchase plastics manufacturing equipment from discontinuing operations at Rubbermaid Home Products Inc.’s Goodyear, Ariz., plant.
Solon, Ohio-based Stopol, a leader in arranging the acquisition and sale of production equipment and machinery, businesses, divisions, product lines, and manufacturing licenses in the plastics industry, organized and managed the event.
Held at Rubbermaid’s 1 million-sq.-ft. Goodyear, Ariz., facility, the auction featured more than 20 late-model Van Dorn and Cincinnati Milacron injection molding machines, an array of robotic machinery and a full cadre of toolroom equipment and accessories. Proceeds from the auction were not disclosed.
Stopol conducted the live auction at Rubbermaid’s facility and webcast the event on www.stopolauctions.com so that bidders from all over the world could participate in the event by using their PCs.
In the past, Stopol has managed several Rubbermaid Group auctions for several of its U.S. facilities. Recent efforts by the Rubbermaid Group to streamline operations and bolster efficiencies left the company with a surplus of processing equipment. As a result, Rubbermaid Group consulted with Stopol to help it divest the excess machinery through a series of auctions.
“This auction was a great opportunity for Rubbermaid to consolidate its operations in a fast, efficient and cost-effective manner,” said Neil Kruschke Jr., Stopol CEO. “And the event proved to be an even better opportunity for all the molders that participated. The amount and quality of the equipment available helped some smaller molders increase and enhance their production capabilities for a fraction of what they’d spend buying new.”
www.StopolAuctions.com Webcasts offer a truly unique, interactive function -- two-way audio communication that enables bidders to not only hear the auctioneer but speak to him directly in real time, as well. If an attendee is participating using their PC and they have a question or require clarification, they can address the auctioneer in real time by using their PC’s microphone. Few, if any, online auction sites offer this cutting-edge and highly efficient function.
